Speaker Submissions
Filling out the Kansas City IT Symposium Speaker Submission Form, below, will allow your potential session(s) to be reviewed, vetted, and included (if appropriate) in the list of potential speakers our executive planning committee will review.
BENEFITS OF SPEAKING
Free Admission - you will receive a complimentary pass to the event, which includes breakfast, lunch, happy hour and all sessions. All attendees pay $200 to attend.
Positioning Of Your Company – speaking in a breakout session allows you to share the wonderful things you are doing in your company and allows others to learn more about your company, your culture, and your IT environment.
Expanding Your Network – speaking at the Symposium will allow you to meet additional people you may not know. You can never have a large enough network.
Information Exchange – the breakout sessions are meant to be interactive. This allows the speakers to learn from the experiences of others during this information exchange.
THE PROCESS
How long is the breakout?
The session is 45 minutes. We typically have our speakers prepare for 30 minutes and leave 15 minutes for interaction and questions during the session. There will be a laptop and project or in the room. 15-20 slides will carry the session 30 minutes.
What topics are we looking for?
We are looking for topics that would fall within the 7 themes for the breakout tracks:
The Business of IT Leadership – more strategic things
Security – processes and experiences
Emerging Technologies/Innovation
Cloud Experiences
Running IT – more day to day operations
Data/Analytics
Modern IT Workforce/Workplace
Who should submit?
You! We look for diversity in speakers. We seek to have a mix of local, regional and national speakers to provide different perspectives. The keynotes will cover the regional and national scope. The breakouts will pull from the local area.
